There is confirmation that twenty minutes of moderate exercise will boost your mood. Researchers studied people who exercised fo different lengths of time. With ten minutes of exercising, the individuals experienced less depression and felt less confused. At twenty minutes there was greater relief, and at thirty minutes the relief was no greater than for twenty minutes. The conclusion: twenty minutes of exercise will lift your spirits, but if you have limited time, you will benefit from a quick ten-minute walk.
Now that the weather is nice and warm, why not make it a goal to walk outside twice a week for the next couple month and see how you feel! I guarantee that walking, whether it be outside or on a machine, will increase your energy and boost your mood more than expected. Everyone has 10-20 minutes a day to get in a little exercise and there is no better time to start than now!
If you do begin to exercise for 20 minutes a few times a week, or what ever you choose, please comment on this post and let me know how you are feeling after a couple of weeks!
